Inktober 2021

This was my first attempt in participating in the popular Inktober challenge. The objectives I set for myself was to be able to conceptualise illustrations for the daily challenge using the official Inktober prompts.

Broken Clock Antiques

Inspired by my exchange trip to New Zealand, this character is a time travelling antique store owner with the power to travel back in time through the objects in her shop.

Lostalgia

Lostalgia describes the obsession with the past (The Bohemian Rhapsody movie just came out at this time). This is an illustration made for a class, mocked onto Varoom magazine.

Jasmine

A project inspired by an enclave in Singapore: A small romance sparks in Little India.

Eat Flesh

It’s lunch time in monster hell and the sandwich shop is fully stocked for the crowd!

DJ Honey

Fan art of DJ Honey, who spins 45” vinyls. It was the last gig I went to before quarantine, and I danced with my friends in a little coffee spot as DJ Honey played her mix of funk and swing from the 60s through 70s.

Rannygazoo

A century old term, Ranygazoo is used to describe a deceptive story, schemes, pranks, or other irritating foolish carrying ons. This is a game for people who want to get to know what they really mean to their friends as everyone votes and accuses each other.

Fictional Jobs

For an assignment, we were to design our initials to express the dream jobs we wanted. As you will see, my dream "jobs" are more fantastical than realistic.

Mahluk

Inspired by the pantheon of ghosts in Malay culture, this banner was created for a pattern making class with theme of "Natural Supernatural”. Enter the Mahluk Cinematic Universe (MCU, if you will).

Yannie's Auction

Inspired by my fascination with knock-off toys of copyrighted cartoons, i created a knock off Christie's Auction website.

Baby's First Ritual

Inspired by American Horror Story: Apocalypse, these illustrations were for a fictional called Baby's First Ritual, a mother and baby fair for those little spawns of Satan!
